
Redesigning an ecommerce experience built to move as fast as the Grenade customers
Grenade’s previous Magento 1 site lacked speed, structure and clarity. Returning customers needed a rapid, friction free way to reorder their favourite products, while first time shoppers needed a guided, educational journey that built trust and confidence. Delivering both experiences in one platform required a UX strategy that was flexible, intuitive and commercially sound. The new site also needed to support Grenade’s growing catalogue, international expansion and high impact content strategy. Achieving this meant rethinking the entire experience from the ground up.

Designing two powerful customer journeys that work together seamlessly
We tackled the dual journey challenge through detailed storyboarding and high fidelity wireframes. For returning customers, we streamlined pathways, simplified navigation and created a fast, direct flow that prioritised speed and clarity. For new customers, we designed fully guided, storyboard style product pages that explained benefits, use cases, flavours and recommendations in a way that felt fun, confident and unmistakably Grenade. This hybrid UX approach allowed the platform to serve both audiences effectively, lifting engagement, boosting trust and driving higher conversion rates across the board.


Engineering a Magento platform built for global scale, speed and nonstop performance
We replatformed Grenade from Magento 1 to Magento 2 with a cleaner technical structure, improved load speeds and better support for high volume product ranges. Custom system integrations provided stability and flexibility for logistics and marketing operations. The front end was built to work seamlessly with Grenade’s bold creative style, ensuring content from campaigns, social media and product launches could be showcased clearly and consistently. Our conceptual design visuals acted as a creative bridge, enabling the internal team to take the wireframed vision across the finish line with confidence.

Driving stronger conversions, higher engagement and a more confident product discovery flow
The new ecommerce experience delivered significant improvements across all key performance indicators. Conversion rates rose, average order values increased and abandonment rates decreased thanks to clearer journeys and more intuitive content sequencing. Engagement with educational content and social touchpoints improved, helping new customers feel more confident in their purchase decisions. Internal feedback and customer response confirmed that the new UX direction was the right move, supporting Grenade’s continued expansion into new markets and product categories.
